Piazza Duomo – 3 Michelin Stars

Piazza Duomo – 3 Michelin Stars

FINE DINNING

With currently 39 Michelin Star restaurants, and most of them around the city of Alba, Piedmont is certainly a fine-dining destination. The star among the stars is Piazza Duomo (top 50 in the world) where chef Enrico Crippa entertains people from all over the world with its creations. ⁣⠀ The entrance is a small purple door in a narrow side-street in the Piazza, a speakeasy-style doorbell let’s you into another dimension, where the magic happens. The experience is a sequence of well orchestrated work of arts: the use of traditional piemontese elements, greens of all sorts and provenance, texture and color gives you the impression of being in front of a performance rather than eating out with your friends. The service itself is more a ballet than anything else, I tried to keep track of how many times someone from the staff would visit our table but I lost count after the second dish. The wine selection is outstanding, we enjoyed a bottle of “La Botte di Gianni” Trebbiano D’Abruzzo 2013 by Masciarelli and Barbaresco Pajé 2010 by Roagna, with the former being definitely my favorite. ⁣⠀

Many thanks to our Wine Club members Anthony and Heather who decided to share this great experience with us!
